A couple of old/new reviews

Here I thought June was going to be a busy month. *whew* Wait - someone tell me where July went, please?

How's everyone doing? Enjoying the summer? Sailing? Reading? Reading about sailing? (how was that for a smooth and subtle plug for Fair Winds? ) Just having fun?

I'm always tickled to come across a review of some of my older shorts and A Halloween Tail is no exception. There's a nice review up at Library Thing .

Also new is a review for Drive Me Home by Ley over at Joyfully Reviewed..

Time for some Fair Winds Reviews

Reviewed by Scandalous Minx at Literary Nymphs: 5 Nymphs and a Golden Blush Recommended Read

I don’t know which enthralled me more; the characters, the setting or the plot. Maybe it was the combination of all three and how well they danced together like the perfect Tango. I’m truly in love with this story, and hope Chrissy Munder won’t leave this incredible tale at just one book. I personally would love to gain more time with the crew of Devlin’s Due. This is a fantastic read should not be missed, and even those who get seasick from looking at a pool will find pleasure reading Fair Winds.

Reviewed by April at Fallen Angels Reviews: 4 Angels - You can’t go wrong with Fair Winds! Rudy Haas completely makes this story great. Even though Ike is the alpha-male type, with tall, dark, and silent down pat, Rudy still steals the show with his gentle nature and gritty drive to succeed at any cost.

Reviewed by Kassa at Rainbow Reviews: 31/2 stars - This is an entertaining and intriguing shorter novella with a real flair for atmosphere and sexual tension. While not wholly successful, the story does shine in the details and characters leaving you wanting more, especially with the hanging ending. The solid writing and descriptive prose bring the energy and excitement of sailing alive from repetitious drills to stormy rescues. Although there are several problems with the story, I enjoyed reading the book and hope there are more in the future.

The request for a continuation is a common one, and while I can't say when it will happen Following Seas will be the title when next Rudy and boys come out to play.

New Review as of August:
You can check out this post by Jenre at her blog Well Read or her expanded post over at ReviewsbyJessewave where she is a guest reviewer.

Catching up is hard to do

ergh...what month is this again?

It doesn't seem like it's been that long since I've posted but whowser. I'm hard at work on two deadlines and trying to push past my regular work and family schedule as well.

How about a quick and dirty round-up post?

New Interview:

Right off the start if there's anything about me you might want to know and don't yet - Try this interview with Linda L. over at Fallen Angel Reviews. Linda asked some interesting questions and you can get some insight into my fondness for Benecio del Toro and odd engineering quirk.

New Reviews:
I hope like heck I've not missed listing any of the latest series of reviews - if yours isn't listed please poke me with a sharp stick. I appreciate everyone that takes the time to read and comment about one of my stories.

I'm still receiving emails on A Simple Life. I really can't thank you all enough for caring so much about this story.

Here's a link to a review by Lily at Ilovebooks. She has a fun blog - check it out.

Click here to read an unexpected 4 star review of It Takes One to Know One by Rainbow Reviews. I'm always pleased to see my man, Zeke get some play.

Here's a few links to reviews on Promise of the Heart. My second entry in the To Have and to Hold collection.

Enigmatic Emily is continuing to review each and every story in the collection. Go Emily!

and Rikki has a post on it as well.

A few new reviews!

Whoops! Is this me flooding my f'list? I've not been online this much in ages. Blame the Dreamspinner Chat! If you've not had a chance to stop by please do - and remember to look for the Topaz Promotions post with the discount code.

There are a couple of new reviews I just had pointed out to me.

I'm very excited about this one:

Teresa at Fallen Angels has reviewed Undiscovered Territory. One of my favorite sweet, rather than spicey pieces.

Ms. Munder has created a fun story about chance meetings that could change the course of your life. This may be a short story, but the plotline and characters come together to engage the reader from the beginning. This is a great story if you want to read a book that isn’t real long but is delightful to read. Layne isn’t looking for a new relationship, but his instant reaction to Terri surprises him. I loved watching how Layne and Terri were immediately attracted to each other. Thanks go to Ms. Munder for a wonderful story.

Thank you! Teresa.

And Joyfully Reviewed has reviewed both Make Me a Match Vol. 1 and Make Me a Match Vol. 2..

New Reviews!

The start of the month is always grand as new reviews show up and I get to hear that someone enjoyed one of my stories. That makes my day.

Here's some new ones - please click on the reviewers link for the full review:

Hearts and Flowers:

Reviewed by Brett at
Rainbow Reviews - (4 stars)A truly delightful short story and a quick read. As the book title suggests, this story is cute, humorous, and sweet. The only “flaw” by my estimation is the slightly forced and hurried interactions with the therapists the main character goes to see. This is hardly detrimental for the story because of the fast pace and size. A fully enjoyable read that I recommend.

Thank you Brett, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Reviewed by Whitney at Fallen Angel Reviews - Whitney wrote a terrific review and I'm putting it behind the cut so I don't have to cut it ) Thank you so much Whitney!

Whitney was busy this month as she also reviewed A Gift of Ash and Frost which I will again put under a cut )

Thank you! Whitney!

Comments across the web

Dashing in quickly to say I've come across a few new items across the web.

There's a review up at Fallen Angels for The Journey Back - Full Review here .
This reader enjoyed watching the mists clear from Riley’s mind and his world return to focus. The Journey Back may be short, but it is an intense and agreeable read. Thanks, Whitney.

And my short story Third Times the Charm available in the Make Me a Match Anthology Volume One was chosen as the Books of the Year - M/M short Story 2008 by Well Read .

The more I think about that the more stunned I truly am.

There's also a review up at Joyfully Reviewed for Brush With Desire . The full review can be found here .

Review for Business Before Pleasure

Read the 4 Nymph Review from Fallen Angels here:.

Business Before Pleasure is a quick and enjoyable read. Joel’s viewpoint/voice is very engaging as he kicks himself in hindsight and calls himself all kinds of a fool for allowing himself to be taken advantage of by his predatory lover. He is also an extremely funny drunk. The reader is formally introduced to Bryce through Joel’s alcoholic haze, and the scene is comical enough to make you laugh out loud. The reader doesn’t get to know Bryce quite as well as Joel, but Bryce has a dry humor to him that fits the story very well. Anticipation of seeing Charles, the dishonest coworker, get his comeuppance will keep the reader glued to this story to the end and entertained the whole time.
