When I'm looking for neat and interesting stuff on the web I normally head over to Chris's blog - Stumbling Over Chaos and her amazing (should be patented) Linkity posts. But today is one of those amazing days where there is great stuff everywhere. I thought I'd share just a few:

For a refreshing look at parenthood (he compares it to herding cats, one of my favorite hobbies) there's this very moving post by Leo Babauta on The Essence of Fatherhood - http://zenhabits.net/fatherhood/

How about 3 Things You Need to Stop Doing to Get Started with What You Truly Want to Do courtesy of The Positivity Blog - http://www.positivityblog.com/index.php/2014/06/12/3-things-to-stop-doing-to-get-started/

Remember the joys of Word Perfect and your favorite Macro? I used to be the Macro Queen and had a slew of them at my fingertips. Not much compared to the bliss of hitting a few keys and having the computer prepare an entire form letter for you. Thems were the days. :) Well, here's a free 600 page guide containing 400 Macros you can use in Word. Download your free copy of Macros for Writers and Editors by Paul Beverley: http://www.archivepub.co.uk/book.html

And then, to better understand how to use them, C.K. Macleod gives us a whole slew of helpful blog posts: http://www.techtoolsforwriters.com/category/microsoft-word/

See what I mean?

What's your favorite web find today?

Do you love the absolutely breathtaking cover Mara McKennen created for After the Storm as much as I do? If so, I'm pleased to say that the cover is in the running for the Rainbow Awards Cover Contest.

This is only round 3, with plenty of voting still ahead, but I wanted to take a moment and appreciate Mara and all the other cover artists who work so hard to make us authors look so good.

I'm pleased to say that [livejournal.com profile] elisa_rolle reviewed my two stories that are part of the Dreamspinner Press Advent Calendar .

Here are snips of the reviews and links to the full review:

A Gift of Frost and Ash - Full Review here . - This is one of the best historical gay romance I read lately, my only regret is that it's too short and left me with the desire to read more. and ...As I said the story is really short, 50 pages, but it has a very well developed plot, and Mathias is a well-round character; on the other hand Mr. Mason and the two gentlemen are only hinted, and I would really glad to read more, on how they arrive to live in a isolated country house, even if it's obviously conceivable.

Giving Gifts - Full Review Here . When you find such good characters, you can only say that it's a shame that they leave you so soon

I'm very pleased Elisa enjoyed the stories.

So I was perusing [livejournal.com profile] madeleineurban 's latest posting and saw she had a review by [livejournal.com profile] elisa_rolle for "The Proposition" which is a story in Mr. Right Now .

So I happily pop off to read and was stunned to realize "Hey, Elisa mentions "Odds Are" too!

Color me giddy. That's my first review on a published story.

Quoted here:

"I like this story but I'm also a pretty sad that there is not and [sic] happily ever after for Rick and Jonah... As I read Jonah, he would be a perfect partner for Rick."

Thank you very much, Elisa.

There's been two common threads in comments I've received from "Odds Are". Top of the list was that people wanted to hear more about Jonah's gambling grandmother and also like you, they wanted a hint of what the future held for Rick and Jonah.

So, in celebration of my first review on a published story here's an excerpt from a story that should have been finished already were it not for my right wrist being semi-immobilised in this pesky arm brace.
