This week's burning question: Do you like to read anthologies, or do you usually run from them as fast as you can?
Brrrrrrr. Hello everyone! How warm is it in your part of the world? I'm running behind again, (still, as usual, etc.) but my frozen brain has decided that I should feature some excerpts this month from stories currently published in anthologies.

I read a lot of anthologies and enjoy the format, both as a reader and as an author. Imagine my surprise when a discussion among friends turned up that there are folks that don't care for them. We tossed the pros and cons around, and while I can understand a lot of the cons, I'm still firmly stuck on the pro side. How about you?

Odds Are available in the Mr. Right Now Anthology.

Summary: Rick Page is renowned pulmonary specialist who normally would be pleased to be speaking at a yearly conference. But this year he’s getting over the end of a long term relationship, trying to cope with his non-phobic fear of elevators and regain his lost confidence. What are the odds he will run into the one man who can help him with all of these issues?

You'd want more. )

I've just sat through 6 hours worth of meetings on the technical aspects of Voice Over IP and how to integrate it into our building (rather like the old joke - very carefully )at least for our multi-tenant/multi-individual server application.

Then I found this - Color me excited.

Joyfully Reviewed has reviewed Mr. Right Now including my story Odds Are

here's the snip:

“Odds Are” by Chrissy Munder

Rick Page is a pulmonary specialist. He’s attractive, in shape, and a bit of a nerd. His long time lover left six months ago and Rick is wondering when he’ll meet someone new. While riding the elevator at a convention Rick meets Jonah. Maybe he’s finally found what he’s been looking for.

Rick’s lack of confidence and his nervousness are very endearing. Jonah is sexy and seductive. “Odds Are” is a story with emotion and really great, meaningful sex.

You know, nothing warms my heart more than hearing I gave really great, meaningful sex.

So I was perusing [livejournal.com profile] madeleineurban 's latest posting and saw she had a review by [livejournal.com profile] elisa_rolle for "The Proposition" which is a story in Mr. Right Now .

So I happily pop off to read and was stunned to realize "Hey, Elisa mentions "Odds Are" too!

Color me giddy. That's my first review on a published story.

Quoted here:

"I like this story but I'm also a pretty sad that there is not and [sic] happily ever after for Rick and Jonah... As I read Jonah, he would be a perfect partner for Rick."

Thank you very much, Elisa.

There's been two common threads in comments I've received from "Odds Are". Top of the list was that people wanted to hear more about Jonah's gambling grandmother and also like you, they wanted a hint of what the future held for Rick and Jonah.

So, in celebration of my first review on a published story here's an excerpt from a story that should have been finished already were it not for my right wrist being semi-immobilised in this pesky arm brace.
